Founder’s Note

When it comes to believing, nothing works better than seeing. As the first among equals at Gotama, I’ve experienced that visuals are essential for enablement, to allow anyone — whether a business or an individual — to improve their skills and have a positive impact on their growth.

Our Logo

One of the most important and perhaps the toughest start up activities is to create a logo that symbolises the spirit and aspiration of an organization. I had to look long and hard, spend on AI and ruminate for days and night on what could be an effective way to visually communicate the vision of Gotama. Then I found the Enso.

While there are multiple interpretations of this usually hand-drawn, rough circle which I like not being closed at the edges, I consider it as an infinite seeking of knowledge - of the self, most of all. The thicker edge where the Enso begins represents the "I-Know-It-All" and gradually curves into what is almost a bay of knowledge - white and pure. It is an open curve - one can enter and exit, it will never be full, yet not empty, it will be inclusive and respectful.

During my stint at Bharti Infratel, we once heard Sunil Bharti Mittal talk about how a logo is a not only symbol of the organization's identity, it also is a powerful medium to communicate their customer orientation, mission and vision, and values. Gotama's vision of enablement required a symbol that inspires repeatedly to carry on the journey of self improvisation. For us the Enso is that one symbol that always reminds and binds us to this commitment.
